for Storefront for Art and Architecture

ongoing

At the outset of my collaboration with Storefront, I researched the organization's communications landscape and history, identifying its unique voice and style as well as main communication channels. Based on this input, and guided by editorial principles, I established a two-part communications manual combining a hands-on style guide and detailed communication strategy.

The style guide section of the manual covers the organization’s overall voice and style down to granular details such as when to capitalize titles, how to use pronouns, or when to use en-dashes. In the strategy section, the manual refines the aims, goals, and editorial schedule for Storefront’s distinct analog and digital channels. Additionally, I created a toolkit with practical archiving, photography, and accessibility guidelines.

To ensure subsequent implementation of the manual and strategy, I participated in the interviewing process of a new comms staff member and supported their onboarding process.

I continue overseeing the communications workflow and schedule and support in-house staff with copy editing and copywriting when needed.
